ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 : Sachin

As a country we love to love Sachin. No other person in the history of India can boast of such unconditional adulation coming from kids to grown ups to everyone. He has been entertaining us for last two decades and has been a perfect role model.
Although we have been saying that he is in last leg of his career for last few years now, World Cup 2011 is most likely to be his last World Cup. This one victory is missing from his crown and nobody wants it more badly than him. He almost single handedly won it in 2003, but it was not meant to be and final was a disaster. Cricket is a team sports and no one player can win the tournament for you which some critics don’t seem to understand. Regardless of the result of 2011 world cup, Sachin will remain the greatest entertainer who has given us reasons to celebrate and elevate from our boring, monotonous lives many a times.
This recent tv commercial showing kids preparing Sachin’s kit and getting him ready for the match is so beautiful and cute. The expression of love and awe in the face of kids is also the feeling of every Indian for Sachin.
