Nike : Write the Future

May 21, 2010 – 3:02 pm by Bibhuti | No Comments »

What better time than now to launch this beautiful campaign when FIFA World Cup is approaching fast. Nike is unveiling an action-packed film that brings together some of the world’s greatest players to inspire soccer lovers and sports fans around the world. The epic three-minute film, “Write the Future,” takes people on a journey that dramatically captures that one moment when headlines are written - from a single pass or one strike that brings a nation eternal happiness, while bringing others to their knees.

The film, directed by renowned Hollywood director and producer Alejandro G. Iñarritu (21 Grams, Babel), features some of the world’s best players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney, Fabio Cannavaro, Franck Ribery, Andres Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Patrice Evra, Gerard Pique, Ronaldinho, Landon Donovan, Tim Howard and Thiago Silva. Special guest cameos are made by tennis legend Roger Federer, basketball superstar Kobe Bryant and Homer Simpson.

World is holding its breath to witness The Beautiful Game creating magic on the biggest canvas of FIFA World Cup in South Africa. On the contrary the biggest brands don’t have the option to wait but to try cashing on it even before the game starts. Here are three commercials involving world cup which make mark. I msut have missed many and I am sure there will be a lot more leading up to 11th June.

Sachin Tendulkar : God of Cricket

February 24, 2010 – 1:04 pm by Bibhuti | No Comments »

Sachin Tendulkar : God of Cricket

No. He is not human. He just looks and behaves as a normal human being. But
he can’t be human. He has been sent to this planet by someone up there to
play cricket and spread joy among billions of Cricket fans. It’s so just that he
is the first one to reach the summit of double hundred in One Day Cricket.

Just few days back, I was having a discussion with some friends about money
and what it can buy and what it can’t. No amount of money can buy the
euphoric moments Sachin has provided us in last two decades. Such great fame,
money and still he carries himself with grace, dignity and humility. In these times
of Tiger Woods and John Terry, we still have someone in Sachin Tendulkar as
ideal role models for everyone.

Thank you Sachin for everything and we hope you go on for ever!!

P.S : The occasion today is such that I couldn’t help but hijack this space to
share my joy with everyone.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2009

April 16, 2009 – 9:36 am by Bibhuti | No Comments »

The wait is almost over. Just two days to go before IPL 2009 kicks off in Cape Town, South Africa on 18th April. It’s sad that the IPL schedule clashed with general election in India and has to move out of India. But, I am happy that at least it is happening. I could not have afforded to be deprived of such exciting month long Cricket Carnival. The bollywood glamor will be on display in full strength as stars like Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty are franchise owners. I bet the fusion of Cricket and Bollywood will run the Election out for sure.

The promotions by the franchises have not been too aggressive this time, probably due to recession and IPL being organized out of India. Shahrukh’s Kolkata Knight Riders, as expected, is the only team which appears not to have been affected. Here are some campaigns released this year.
