John Lewis : The Long Wait

“For gifts you can’t wait to give.”

I am not a big fan of always using kids in ads for the cuteness factor. But, I just love this beautiful new Christmas campaign for John Lewis. In 90s they are telling a sweet story and selling the product as well. Great job.

Agency: Adam & Eve Group Ltd, UK

Nescafé : Hypnotist

November 15, 2011 – 11:38 am by Bibhuti | No Comments »

“Wake up to life.”

Coffee might not have anything to do with but the situations shown in the ad are real things which we miss and should fix. Although the idea seems to be inspired from the ad below as pointed by joelapompe, this one is definitely better executed.

United Russia Party : Let’s Do It Together

November 12, 2011 – 4:18 am by Bibhuti | No Comments »

Just when you think that you have already seen everything possible being sold via sexual advertising, something new comes up. And this new one is kind of public awareness campaign to encourage young people to vote. Yeah, you heard it right.

This slick advert, released this week by Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party, shows a young couple flirting at a polling site, before the woman grabs the man by the neck and pulls him into the election booth as heavy breaths accompany a techno soundtrack.

Seconds later, the dishevelled couple leave the booth and drop their ballots in a box, as the ad’s slogan is displayed on the screen: “Let’s do it together”.

Obviously the opposition party cries foul. Gennady Gudkov, an influential Duma deputy, said in an interview published on Wednesday that he would ask prosecutors and the country’s election commission to investigate the advert – not for its sexual content, but for violating the constitution.

“United Russia has forgotten that voting in Russia is meant to be secret,” Gudkov, deputy head of the Duma’s security committee and a member of A Just Russia, a Kremlin-sanctioned opposition party, told Izvestiya newspaper. “According to the law, a person who drops their ballot in the box must be in the booth completely alone.”

I am sure no party in India can dare such a campaign. Although it would have been interesting to see how the young voters in India would have reacted as their turn out is always pretty low in voting.
