Social media is the buzz word for quite some time now and everyone is trying to cash in on it. IKEA is not far behind and they have launched an innovative personalised 3D showroom facility on YouTube using information drawn from the Facebook profiles of viewers. It’s not the first time that any brand has collaborated with YouTube. Earlier Volkswagen’s Black Beetle commercial was given some special treatment on YouTube. But this is a step forward to integrate with Facebook.
Visitors to youtube.com/IKEAUK are shown an IKEA bedroom designed to perfectly suit them based on their own Facebook information and living situation. IKEA has even gone to the trouble of hanging photos of customers’ loved ones on the walls to ensure they really do experience their perfect bedroom environment. Other features in the 3D showroom include the ability to see detailed product information and to click through to IKEA.co.uk to purchase any home furnishings featured within the bedroom.
The IKEA UK Youtube channel has one video, “Everything You Need To Go Happy To Bed”, featuring a couple’s pillow fight.

I just love these “Men Will Be Men” series of ads done for Seagram’s Imperial Blue. Hilarious situations and nice acting by the characters.
As Government of India has banned the liquor and tobacco ads, the companies turn to such surrogate campaigns. Although I must agree that there is no relationship between the plots and product which is Cassettes and CDs in this case. But like sex, humor sells too.

Many a times while sitting inside the boring office cubicle, the thought of breaking free and seeing the beautiful places around the world would have come to your mind. After seeing this campaign “Move” by STA Travel Australia, that thought might become a little stronger.
STA Travel Australia sent 3 of their mates, Rick Mereki, Andrew Lees and Tim White on a six-week journey around the world which is crammed into one minute of this nice campaign. Nicely done.
