Ariel : Lipstick

Ariel

“No stains. No stories.”

Agency: Saatchi & Saatchi Mumbai, India
Creative Directors: Juju Basu, Hanoz Mogrelia
Executive Creative Directors: Ramesh Ramanathan, Andy Greenaway, Joel Clement
Art Director: Sandeep Poyekar
Photographer: Raju Shukla
Copywriter: Amit Acharekar
Producer: Prabhakar Bolar

“The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend.”

Looks like Ariel does believe in the above philosophy and is making friends with stain. If you enlarge the image, you can see a sequence of events pictorially which leads to the lipstic mark. And the message is not to worry about stains as Ariel is there to take care of it.

The concept and the art direction is quite good. But I think there is some disconnect between the copy and the product. Too much is left unsaid.

This ad is the best of the series. Ariel anyway has a long tradition of using ’stain’ as the hero in their communication - e.g. last year’s Cannes winner.
