Thumps Up : Chase

Akshay Kumar has been chasing Thumps Up for quite sometime now and he is chasing well. This ad shows Akshay on a maniac chase on Malaysian road for something in his girlfriend’s car . The next few sequences will show some car stunts and finally Akshay catches up with a vehicle and gets his Thumps Up back. In between the actions, a flashback sequence is shown where Akshay’s Thums Up bottle falls off his balcony onto a moving vehicle which explains the plot. In the last shot, Akshay is shown in a hospital bed thanking god that his Thumps up (Not his girlfriend) is safe.

Like the earlier Thumps Up campaigns, this one is also aimed at Indian males and who better than Akshay ‘the funny and action hero of bollywood’ could have been the brand ambassador. More than the stunts, it’s the wicked smile and expression of Akshay’s which makes the ad work. The catchy background music also adds flavor to the whole campaign.
