Finally, a phone which tries to at least sell itself as a phone and not some advanced scientific instrument. A phone is supposed to make our life easy not become our life. That’s the message from Microsoft which is rather refreshing.

The ad shows many memorable life situations but all distracted by their phone. And then the voice over says; “It’s time for a phone to save us from our phones”. Finally, the words “in and out, and back to life.” appear and the ad ends with “be here now.”

Microsoft : Concrete Envelope

They wanted to show software sales staff that Windows breaks down the walls in customers’ lives. So they showed them what that felt like by putting the letter in a concrete envelope, complete with a hammer to smash it open. The letter invited them to join a sales promotion where they could win a trip to where the Berlin Wall used to be.
