KitKat : Wimbeldon’s Epic Match

“Have a break. Have a KitKat.”

Be it sports or life, timing is everything. KitKat definitely knows it and has smartly exploited the longest ever professional tennis match to their advantage. KitKat’s UK ad agency JWT London says they had came up with this poster within an hour of the finish of the epic set between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut which ended at 70-68.

Hunky Dorys Potato Chips : Irish Rugby

Hunky Dorys Potato Chips : Irish Rugby

Hunky Dorys Potato Chips : Irish Rugby

Sex sells. This is a universal fact and has been exploited since ages specially in advertising. A campaign for Hunky Dorys potato chips showing scantily clad females playing Rugby and with suggestive headlines has hit Ireland. This is a clear attempt to target young male market but has not gone down well with Irish rugby officials.

Lian Schreuder, the Belgian blonde featured as one of the ‘team captains’ in the racy ads which appeared on billboards this week, said she didn’t find the context sexist at all — and was taken aback by the reaction.

As far as the company is concerned, they must be pretty with the limelight and buzz this campaign has created. Any publicity is good publicity and the brand has made it to the public consciousness.
