Pantene : Salt Shaker

July 29, 2010 – 1:28 pm by Bibhuti | 2 Comments »

Pantene : Salt Shaker

Dandruff is not appetizing. And that’s what they exactly show. Salt shakers, in the design of a women’s head were placed in bars, resturants and canteens. When the salt shaker is shaken, salt crystals trickle out like dandruff. Or remain, as usual for salt shakers, lying on the women’s head. But the salt shaker also offers the solution - Pantene Anti-Dandruff Shampoo.

Pantene : Door Handle

April 22, 2009 – 12:36 pm by Bibhuti | 1 Comment »

Pantene : Door Handle

Challenge: Pantene makes hair strong hair and objective was to bring the communication at various consumer touch points.

Solution: A poster with a real plait hanging from the back of a head was stuck on the doors of malls, supermarkets and beauty salons. The plait served as the door handle and each time patrons ‘pulled’ the hair handle, the core benefit of Pantene was communicated in an interesting manner.

Result: Apart from bringing a lovely smile to the lips of patrons, it created greater brand awareness and an increase in enquiries at the Pantene beauty counters set up at these touch points.

I saw it from left. I saw it from right. I saw it from top. I saw it from bottom. Nowhere did I find an ad for Pantene. I zoomed it to 200%. I zoomed it to 400%. Nowhere did I find an ad for Pantene.

Then I used a microscope to find the text in the circle which reads: “Make sure your hair is the second thing he’ll notice about you“. This makes it worse. Atleast they could have gone with line: “Make sure your hair is the first thing he’ll notice about you“.

There is a thin line between being playful and being vulgar. This ad even doesn’t try to be honest. Unfortunately this campaign is going to be a huge success and even I have contributed to it by discussing it.
