Van Gogh Museum Cafe : Broken Handle

I had no idea what this advert signifies until I came to know that Van Gogh became
a little insane towards the end of his life and he had cut off part of his own ear. Also,
it seems absinthe, the liquor Van Gogh was addicted to, was presented with a single
cube of sugar and the stirrer. If you know these historical details then you would
appreciate the concept else it will go above the head.

if u go to Van Gogh museum then u are supposed to know something about him. People even do some reading before visiting any worldclass museum. Also the ad itself wud create some curiosity.. so it serves the purpose.
